Pulwama: Man creates scene after ‘kidnapping’ woman

Pulwama, Feb 2: A person created a scene at Sangarwana here on Saturday by kidnapped a married woman on the grounds that “she is my wife.”
Witnesses said the person, a resident of Kharpora, along with some armed men in uniform “forcibly picked up” the woman, who is married to another person of the same village and took her away. “After people fought with them, the woman was brought back to home,” they said.
“After showing some papers, he claimed that the woman was his wife and he had married to her some months back. He forcibly took her with him,” said a local, on the condition of anonymity. “We followed them and after fighting with them for a long time we very able to bring her back home.”
Police said the accused has been arrested. “We arrested the accused. We have registered a case and necessary action will be taken,” said the Senior Superintendent of Police Pulwama Amit Kumar.
