Srinagar, Feb 2: Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo on Saturday directed the authorities to take strong action against the Master Plan violators in the summer capital.
 Kichloo was addressing a function after laying foundation of Shah-e-Hamdan shopping-cum-office complex at Bishambar Nagar, Khayam here. 
 Directing the SMC to issue building permissions as per revised bye-laws of Srinagar Master Plan, the Minister asked its enforcement wing to take strong action against the violators.
 “We cannot allow summer capital to come up haphazardly. I will take strong action against those people who don’t stick to revised guidelines of Srinagar Master Plan,” the Minister emphazised.
 On the occasion, the Minister directed the SMC authorities to facilitate people and address their issues pertaining to basic amenities on priority.
  “In review meeting of SMC held earlier this week, I have asked the Municipal Commissioner to keep a dedicated helpline service available at the disposal of people so that their issues are addressed in real time,” the Minister said.
 Kichloo asked SMC to complete the shopping complex project within the stipulated timeframe. He added that locals of the area shall be given preference in allotment of shops.
 MLA Habba Kadal, Shamima Firdous, in her address, said the proposed project will benefit the locals as the complex besides having medical facilities, public conveniences; ATM shall also have the facility of community hall.
 She further said that the government will come up with two more community halls in the area and shall also rehabilitate the Auto Rickshaws drivers at a proper place to avoid cluttering in the area.
 Commissioner SMC, Dr GN Qasba, assured speedy completion of the project.
 “We are committed to resolve all genuine problems of people of Srinagar,” Dr Qasba said while addressing the gathering.
 Estimated at Rs 430.00 the five storied shopping complex with basement area for parking facility and other modern facilities shall have 27 shops and six office halls on a plinth area 4898.50 sfts.
