Workshop on interface of psychiatry and medicine
Tangmarg, Feb 2: Director Health Services Kashmir on Saturday organised a workshop on “The Interface of Psychiatry and Medicine’’ at Regional Health and Family Welfare Institute, Dhobiwan Tangmarg.
As many as 110 doctors drawn from across the Valley, besides Psychiatrists and experts from medical fraternity participated in the workshop.
Director, Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, while addressing the workshop said that on the subject of psychiatry and medicine, this programme has a great significance of being first of its kind to benefit the masses in respect of ensuring mental health to all groups of age in Valley.
The workshop was informed that around 1,13,940 patients suffering from mental health problem and 11,838 patients were treated for drug addiction by the department besides 28 camps were organized for the purpose and 1051 doctors and 1301 paramedics were imparted training on the subject
