Gund Brath village reels under darkness

Srinagar, Feb 5: Inhabitants of Gund Brath village in Apple Town Sopore are reeling under darkness for past over one month.
A delegation from the area led by Hassan Zainagaree said the PDD installed a transformer in the village under a centrally sponsored schemed on December 18 last year. “Within three days, the transformer developed a technical snag and was shifted to some workshop for repairs,” the delegation said.
After massive public outcry over inordinate delay in its repairs, the PDD installed another transformer on January 28. “However after few minutes it also developed technical snag. We apprised the Chief Engineer PDD about the matter and despite his assurance power is yet to be restored in our village. In absence of power, we are facing immense hardships.  We make a fervent appeal to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to look into the matter,” they added
