GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar,Feb 7: Minister of Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir today inaugurated e-toilets at world famous high altitude tourist spot Kangdoori, Gulmarg.
The Minister was accompanied by Director Tourism, Talat Pervaiz and officials of tourism department.
The e-toilets will also be set up at Affarwat, which is one of the world’s highest locations.
Two electronic public toilets (e-toilets) each for male and female have been installed at Kangdoori.
The e-toilets are manufactured and installed by Eram Scientific Solutions, an R&D company based at Trivandrum, Kerala.
“As the e-toilets work on sensor-based technology, its performance at the extreme cold temperature of the Valley has been a great challenge for us. However, the rigorous field tests and trials have confirmed that our technology is proven and extremely robust to perform to set standards in the subzero weather conditions,” said Girish Chandra Babu GM Sales & Marketing of Eram Scientific Solutions.
The e-toilets are designed as solutions for urban public sanitation and are of specific benefit to tourist places where cleanliness and hygiene are of utmost importance to attract more tourists to the place.
Automatic access control using coin Validator, automatic cleaning and flushing system, sensor based technology for operations of the units, remote management system though web and mobile using GPRS network are some of the features of the system.
