JK GOES DOWN IN SEMI-FINAL
ALL INDIA AG’S FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Srinagar, Feb 7: J&K Comptroller and Auditor General’s office football team were knocked out of All India AG’s Football tournament when they were defeated by Kolkatta at Nagpur on Thursday.
In the semi-final clash Kolkatta defeated JK side by 2-1. In first half Kolkatta were leading by 1-0. In second half JK equalised through Shahnawaz’s goal. In the concluding minutes of the match Kolkatta scored their second thus sealed fate of the match in their favour. With this defeat JK were knocked out of the event.
Earlier on Wednesday, JK had defeated Rajasthan by 2-0. Shahnawaz scored first goal for the team in first half while as Sameer Kumar doubled tally in second half.
Pertinently, JK qualified for the All India event after winning North Zone round. In the final of North Zone level, JK had defeated Haryana.
