Muzaffer emerges winner
GULMARG SNOW RUN
Srinagar, Dec 31: Muzaffer Ahmad of Budgam emerged winner in the Gulmarg Snow Run organised by Hotel Apline Ridge at Gulmarg on Monday.
The event in which top 30 athletes of the Valley participated was flagged off by Director Tourism Talat Parvez.
Muzaffer Ahmad of Budgam finished first while as Hamid of SP School finished second. Tanveer Hussain of JK Bank finished third.
It was first time that such type of run was held in Gulmarg during winter season. The athletes exhibited their skills on the roads that were fully covered by snow.
Hailing Hotel Alpine Ridge management for coming forward to organize such an event that has capability of market Gulmarg winter season in bigger way team manager Reyaz Wani said, “We are grateful to management of Alpine Ridge for organizing this event. Athletes were requesting tourism officials from long to organize such an event. Today that wish has been fulfilled”.
“Skiing and Ice Skating are not the only events that have potential to attract visitors from all over. Cycling and Snow Run has same kind of potential and we are hopeful they will continue their support,” he added.
Giving details about the event Director Hotel Alpine Ridge, Dr Ifshan said, “We have got lot of potential in athletics and today these players showed their capabilities in this type of harsh climatic conditions. We are happy to be part of this event and are hopeful to organise in coming years as well”.
