NSS KU organizes rally against atrocities on Women
Srinagar, Jan 9: National Service Scheme (NSS) University of Kashmir in collaboration with NSS units of various Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary Institutes of the Valley organized a peaceful rally inside the campus in which hundreds of students and NSS volunteers from University, Colleges and Higher Secondary schools participated.
The rally was flagged-off by acting KU Vice- Chancellor Prof S Fayaz Ahmad during which Controller of Examinations and acting Registrar Prof A S Bhat, Dean Students Welfare Prof Neelofar Khan, President Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA) Prof G M Sangmi, Chief Proctor Prof M Afzal Zargar, NSS Program Officers from University, Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary Institutions were present.
During the rally acting Vice–Chancellor Prof S Fayaz Ahmad condemned the barbaric acts against women and asked the students to adhere to moral values.
The students while displaying ply cards in their hands impressed upon the authorities to give severe punishment to the perpetrators.
They were also asking to start fast-track courts in order to curb this menace.
