DDC for preservation of Sherbagh
Islamabad (Anantnag), Jan 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Anantnag, Farooq Ahmad Shah today inspected the on- going work of the Sherbagh Park. The DDC on the occasion directed the concerned agency executing the work, to get it accomplished immediately.
“ I had assured the people of the town that we will restore the pristine glory of Sherbagh garden and its springs and the results are before everyone,” DDC said.
He said Sherbagh has its historical significance and was the face of the town and people should ensure its cleanliness. “Sherbagh forms the essence of the town and the people have emotions associated with
it, so it is the duty of every resident to preserve its beauty and not pollute it,” said the DDC.
He also assured that all the springs of the town would be properly maintained and the encroachments on them would be removed.
“We will do everything possible for the development and beautification of Islamabad town and district”, said DDC.
The DDC later informed that Rs 36 lakh are being spent on the Sherbagh garden while the construction of a restaurant is on cards.
