INHABITANTS SEEK POLICE ACTION
Thefts at Shah Anwar Colony
Srinagar, Jan 11: The inhabitants of Shah Anwar Colony, Hyderpora Bypass have expressed strong resentment over failure of police to prevent thefts in the area.
A delegation from the area led by Dr A Rashid Khan president Resident Welfare Committee Shah Anwar Colony said from past nearly a month, many theft incidents have taken place there.
“Tyres of parked vehicles in the colony were stolen nearly two weeks ago. Besides, miscreants have damaged costly street and gate lights in the area by pelting stones on them. These incidents have created panic in the area. We had approached police but no action has been taken yet,” the delegation said.
“We make a fervent appeal to DIG Central Kashmir range Afadul Mujtaba to look into the matter and direct the concerned police officers to nab the miscreants at the earliest,” the delegation said.
