Lady Panch shot at, injured

Sopore, Jan 12: A day after killing a Sarpanch in Bomai area here in north Kashmir, unidentified gunmen shot at an injured a woman Panch of Congress at Hardshiva village on Saturday evening.
Officiating Superintendent of Police (SP) Sopore Zubair Ahmad Khan told Greater Kashmir the attackers barged into the house of lady Panch, Zooni Begum wife of Muhammad Ramzan Kumar this evening. “Gunmen resorted to indiscriminate firing injuring her. Her condition is critical and she was rushed to SKIMS Soura for the specialized treatment,” Khan said.
“Her family members have seen one person opening fire on Zoona.”
“She was shot from point blank range with a pistol and has received bullets in the neck,” said a police officer wishing not to be named.
Pertinently, gunmen had shot dead a Congress Sarpanch, Habibullah Mir in Bomai area on Friday afternoon.
