80 stranded passengers of Gurez airlifted

Bandipora, Jan 15: 80 stranded passengers of Gurez were airlifted between Gurez and Bandipora on Tuesday in Mi-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force, an official spokesman said.
 He said 25 passengers were airlifted from Bandipora to Dawar and 17 from Bandipora to Baduab. “23 passengers were airlifted from Dawar to Bandipora and 15 from Baduab to Bandipora,” he said.
 The passengers were facilitated at the helipads by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Tariq Ahmed and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Gurez Muhammed Ashraf Hakak.
 “Meanwhile, AN-32 Kargil Courier flight between Kargil and Srinagar/Jammu got cancelled due to technical reasons at Chandigarh. Subject to favourable weather conditions, the Kargil Courier will operate on Wednesday, January 16,” the spokesman said.
