Handwara case
This refers to the news item regarding the death of a child in the intervening night of 12-01-13 and 13-01-13, wherein it is alleged that death of a child occurred due to negligence and absence of doctors in District Hospital Handwara.
The said child aged 5 years reported to casualty at 3:30 A.M in the interviewing night of 12-01-13 & 13-01-13 where doctor-in-charge attended the patient who was gasping with cold with no pulse and cold clammy skin. He had taken drug Promethazine two to three times as was told by his mother and they also had the prescription with them. Doctor immediately gave the treatment whatever available in the Hospital and also called the Doctor from SNCU side who after examining the patient declared the patient dead, the whole process took 10-15 minutes. The body remained in Hospital upto 7:00 A.M due to request by attendants and were given all hospitality by the staff on duty. They left the Hospital with no complaint or negligence against the doctors or staff on duty.
Lastly it is informed to public that some miscreants due to their vested and personal interests interfere in the daily work of hospital and create problems in the smooth functioning of the hospital. People are requested not to pay any heed to these mischievous elements and cooperate with the Hospital administration in case of any complaint whatsoever.
