Srinagar, Jan 17: The birth anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Gurupurab, would be observed with religious fervor and enthusiasm across the state on Friday.
 Governor, N N Vohra has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion. In a message of felicitations, the Governor observed that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was an apostle of peace, compassion and love. He said that the values underlying the teachings of the great Guru will continue to inspire future generations to strive for establishing a healthier society and a just social order.
 The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State on this occasion.
 Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in his felicitation message wished Guru Purab to be harbinger for peace and prosperity of the state and welfare of its people.
 Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand greeted the people especially Sikh brethren on the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  In his greetings message, Tara Chand said Guru  Ji was an apostle of peace, compassion and love, and gave the message of universal brotherhood and a just society.
 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and President Mehbooba Mufti greeted the people of the state and Sikh community in particular on the eve of Guru Purab. In their message, the two leaders extended their warm greetings and good wishes to the people of the state.
