Dastgeer Sahib (RA) shrine will be blend of traditional, modern Islamic architecture: Kichloo
Srinagar, Jan 19: Minister of State for Home, Industries and Commerce Sajad Ahmad Kichloo on Saturday said
the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) popularly known as Gaus-ul-Azam Dastgeer Sahib (RA) will be a blend of traditional and modern Islamic architecture.
Kichloo said this during a visit to the revered shrine at Khanyar. On the occasion, he paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for peace, prosperity and development of the state.
The management of the shrine performed his Dastarbandi. Kichloo also took stock of the ongoing reconstruction work of the gutted shrine and interacted with the devotees about the plans of the Muslim Wakf Board for making the new Shrine complex a blended model of traditional and modern Islamic architecture.
Earlier he conducted an extensive visit of the Srinagar city to have first hand information about the latest status of public delivery system. Kichloo flew to Srinagar in wee hours today to take stock of the situation arising out of heavy snow fall in various parts of the Kashmir Province.
He convened a high level meeting of the district administration and directed for early restoration of essential services and snow clearance from the all trunk roads and inner link roads on war footing basis.
