Women submit resolution to HMCC
Srinagar, Jan 20: Humsafar Marriage Counseling Cell (HMCC) on Sunday said a large number women of Srinagar city have resolved to shun extravagance in marriage ceremonies.
In a statement general secretary of HMCC Lateef Ahmad said over hundreds women from various areas of Srinagar came to its head office today and submitted a resolution to its chairman Fayaz Ahmad Zaroo resolving to shun bad customs and extravagance in marriage ceremonies.
The spokesman said the women maintained that the weekly radio programme of HMCC ‘Humsafar’ has changed their lives and inspired them to take the step. “They hailed the endeavour of Fayaz Ahmad Zaroo for reforming the society positively and also expressed gratitude to producer-director of radio programme Humsafar and appealed the authorities of Radio Kashmir to broadcast the programme twice a week and repeat its episodes,” the statement said.
