Jammu, Jan 21: Deputy Chief Minister and School Education Minister Tara Chand on Monday attached Chief Education Officer Poonch attached for dereliction of duties, an official spokesman said.
 Expressing concern over the dismal performance of functionaries of education department, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed upon the concerned to work with synergy and close coordination to avoid loopholes and to bring transparency in the department.
 “It is disheartening to know that 18000 vacancies are lying unfilled in the department, now we have to speed up the process which got delayed this far to ensure that government schools get the necessary staff and teachers,” he exhorted.
