Industrialization key to employment generation: Kichloo

Srinagar, Jan 21: Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo Sunday convened a meeting to get first hand appraisal of the latest status of industrial scenario in the Kashmir Valley.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that industrialization is the key to employment generation and asked the officers of Industries and Commerce to give main thrust on entrepreneurship development in the State. He added that massive awareness about various central and state self-employment schemes is pivotal in this regard.
It was his first interactive session after taking charge of the I&C portfolio with the divisional and sectoral level officers of SICOP, SIDCO, Handicrafts, Handloom, J&K Cement, JKI and JK Minerals of Kashmir Province.
Kichloo said that the Industries sector has vast employment generation potential, which has remained unexploited adding that all the possible ways and means need to be utilized optimally to fill this vacuum. The Minister said that owing to primary importance of Industries sector in the accelerated development of the State, effective implementation of packages was need of the hour.
He said the concerned officers should facilitate the entrepreneurs to avail benefits of various industrial promotion schemes in vogue in the State.
The Minister also assured the officers that due attention shall be given to the improvement of the personal management system and manpower strength in various industries, commerce and allied departments.
