Govt mulls to appoint ISM doctors in new type PHCs
Jammu, Jan 24: The state government is considering appointing ISM Doctors and Pharmacists at all New Type Primary Health Centres opened in various parts of the state in recent past.
This was revealed by Minister of State for Health (Independent Charge) Shabir Ahmed Khan, while chairing a review meeting of the ISM department.
In a statement, the minister said that Government has submitted a proposal for engaging 436 ISM medicos and 436 ISM pharmacists in 436 new PHCs to the Centre for approval under NRHM funding.
Under NRHM, 438 AYUSH medical officers have been engaged at PHCs. 160 posts of Ayurvedic and Unani medical officers created by corresponding reduction of equal number of posts of Assistant surgeons besides 396 AYUSH Pharmacist have also been engaged under this mission at PHCs across the State.
