DAK calls on Taj, raises issues
Srinagar, Jan 25: A delegation of Doctors’ Association Kashmir (DAK) headed by its President Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan called on the Minister for Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din at his private office here on Friday and apprised him about various issues concerning the department.
Various issues confronting the medical fraternity and general public at large vis-à-vis health care delivery system of the state were also discussed with the Minister, a DAK spokesman said.
“The Minister was appreciative of the suggestions put forward by the Association for improving the healthcare delivery system of the state. It proposed the banning of private practice of doctors in a phased manner,” he said.
The spokesman of the Association said the delegation also put forth the demands that include: the in-service postgraduate/postdoctoral doctors should get salaries, review of private practice of the teaching faculty in view of declining teaching standards of medical schools of state.
The Minister, according to the DAK statement, agreed to look into the demands.
