KU organizes social service camps for devotees
Srinagar, Jan 25: Kashmir University organized social service camps for devotees at Hazratbal on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) on Friday.
A spokesman of Kashmir University said its various units including Proctorial wing, National Service Scheme (NSS), Department of Students Welfare, Watch and Ward Wing, JK police unit of KU, Health and Hygiene wing, Landscape Development, Estates Department and the Health Centre participated in these camps.
Vice-Chancellor accompanied by Registrar KU Prof Zafar A Rishi, Chief Proctor Prof Muhammad Afzal Zargar, NSS coordinator KU, Dr Farooq Ahmad Khan, and other top officials interacted with the devotees at the Sir Sayeed Gate of the varsity .
Prof Talat visited the National Service Scheme camp and hailed the social service done by the NSS volunteers.
Dr Farooq Ahmad Khan briefed the VC about various steps taken by the wing for the benefit of devotees.
Registrar KU Prof Zafar A Rishi also expressed satisfaction over the way various units of the university pooled their efforts to help devotees.
The spokesman said free parking, first aid and refreshments were provided to the devotees. He said NSS volunteers and students of different departments participated in the social work.
