Parvez Rasool selected for NCA Bangalore
Srinagar, Jan 25: The all-rounder from Jammu and Kashmir Parvez Rasool has been selected for the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore.
The star cricketer who recently had his second stint with Team India in net sessions at Mohali, Punjab has been asked to report at NCA Bangalore on Saturday.
Parvez has been selected for academy along with other promising cricketers of the Country who were also part of net session with Team India. In the academy the young cricketers would be practising under the watchful eyes of Team India coaching staff lead by chief coach Duncan Fletcher.
Talking to Greater Kashmir Parvez said, “I returned from Mohali on Thursday and today got call from the officials that I have been called up for NCA Bangalore. I have to report on Saturday and will be joined by other players from different parts of Country”.
“It is first time that I have been called up for NCA where Countries top cricketers hone their skills throughout their careers. I am lucky to get such a chance and I will take maximum benefit out of it,” he said.
Parvez recently became first cricketer of Valley to play for India-A team against England side. Before that he along with other four cricketers of Country where called on to have net session with Team India before the third India-Pakistan One Day match at Delhi.
After that Parvez was again called for net session with Team India prior to India’s match against England at Mohali.
About the net session at Mohali Parvez said, “It is always dream come true to play alongside with International cricketers like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh and others. I am just lucky to get that chance twice within short period of time. Selectors have short listed some cricketers from domestic cricket and I am one among those. It is their strategy to groom players like me”.
He said that during his net session stint at Mohali he had some useful chats with selectors and players which will help him to improve his game.
“I had some useful chat with selectors including North Zone selector, Vikram Rathor who congratulated me for my performance during Ranji season. He told me to work harder and there is bright chance for me to reach higher level,” he said.
“I also had useful session with Raina who told me that there is no substitute for hard work and other important thing is luck,” he added.
