Jammu to host AROGYA

Jammu, Jan 26: The State government in conjunction with Union Health Ministry and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries would organize four day AROGYA meet in Jammu from February 23, an official spokesman said on Saturday.
 He said the main objective of this conference is to promote Indian System of Medicine (ISM) besides showcasing the strength of AYUSH system etc and the inevitable linkage with the industry.
 The sammelon, a national event, would be organized at Parade Ground Jammu, in which the stake holders besides the expert doctors, specialists related with traditional system of medicine from in and outside the state would participate, he said, adding that the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad is expected to inaugurate the programme.
 In this regard, the Minister of State for Health and Family welfare, Shabir Ahmed Khan today convened a meeting of concerned departments and discussed the arrangements.
 Speaking on the occasion, the Minister underscored the need for ensuring timely arrangements by the concerned departments. He said it was a great opportunity for the State to host such national event, adding that we should optimally utilize the moment for further encouraging ISM towards new dimensions in the state.
