KU hosts annual meet of NSS program officers

 Srinagar, Jan 2: University of Kashmir organized a meet of NSS program officers of the Valley to celebrate the IGNSS award bagged by it recently. The award had been granted to the varsity in recognition of its contribution to community services.
 Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad on the occasion said, “The award is a recognition of the dedication and hard work which our program officers and volunteers put in the community service and it was great to see that a young student volunteer from one of the  colleges of the valley also bagged IGNSS award.”
 Prof Talat said the NSS is being improved with introduction of innovative content so as to enhance its relevance among the youth of Kashmir and to design the roadmap of social services for 2013.
 Prof Talat said that more and more students have expressed their desire to get enrolled as volunteers in various NSS units across the valley following which the matter has been taken up with the concerned authorities for increasing the number of volunteers and NSS units in colleges.
