JK squad leaves for Varanasi
SANTOSH TROPHY
Srinagar, Jan 29: J&K football team on Monday left from Jammu to participate in the 67th National football Championship for Santosh Trophy at Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) from February 1.
The team comprise of 23 members including coach, physiotherapist and manager. Vikramjit Singh has been appoianted as skipper while as other members comprise of Aman Thapa, Wasim Feroz, Rohit, Khalid Qayoom, Shahnaz Iqbal, Zubair, Aiman, Rizwan Sheikh, Nusrat Kamal, Umer Jan, Jamsheed Ahmad, Asif Majid, Ajay Kumar, Yaseen, Faisal Ahmad , Altaf Ahmad, Amir Farooq, Javeed Hussain and Dhanjay Sharama.
Zahoor Ahmad Teli has been appointed manager of the squad while as Satpal Singh of J&K State Sports Council has been appointed coach.
J&K will play its first match on February 2 against Rajasthan while as in its second match will loc k horns with Assam on February 4. In the third match, JK will be against Andaman and Nicobar on February 6.
