Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) observed across Valley

Srinagar, Jan 3: The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions was observed on Thursday, which falls on 20th of Safar-1434 AH on the Islamic calendar. Several programmes were organised as part of the Chehlum across the Valley.
The functions were organised by JK Itihad-ul-Muslimeen, JK Shia Association, JK Anjuman-e-Shar-e-Shiaan, JK Anjuman-e-Shar-e-Shiaan led by Aga Syed Muhammad Fazalullah Al-Safvi Al-Mosvi and others.
A daylong Majlis Chehlum was organized by JK Shia Association at Imam Bargah Zadiabal here. Thousands of devotees thronged the Imam Bargah Zadibal where they recited verses of Holy Quran, which was followed by Marsiya.
J&K Shia Association Chief Patron, Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, delivered a lecture on the importance of the Karbala Martyrs. Ansari highlighted the significance of the day and shed light on the sacrifices rendered by Imam Hussain (AS) and his followers.
Later Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari took out a procession from Baba Mazar Zadibal to Gasiyar Chowk which culminated at historic Imambargah Zadibal.
A Majlis Chehlum was also organized by Itihad-ul-Muslimeen at Chattabal Srinagar. The prominent Zakirs included Aga Syed Hassan, Muhammad Shafi, Khawaja, Maqsool Ali, Haji Ghulam Hassan, Syed Hassan Mosvi and others.
J&K Ithad-ul-Muslimeen Chief Patron, Moulana Abass Ansari, delivered a lecture on the importance of the Ashoora. He shed light on the sacrifices rendered by Imam Hussain (AS) and his followers during the daylong Majlis. Abass Ansari urged the Muslim brethren to remain united.
Later, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari took out a procession from Bemina Crossing which culminated at Masjid Sajjadiya Chattabal, Srinagar.
The Anjuman-e-Shar-e-Shiaan held a daylong Majlis at Hassanabad, Budgam and other places across the Valley thousands of devotees attended the Majlis and glowing tributes were paid to the Karbala Martyrs .
J&K Anjuman-e-Shar-e-Shiaan Chief Patron, Aga Syed Hassan Mustaffa Safvi Almosvi, delivered a lecture on the importance of the Karbala Martyrs. Later processions were taken out from Zaildar Mohalla to Imambargah Hassanabad and also Astan Sharief Budgam to Imambargah Budgam.
Meanwhile the Anjuman-e-Shar-e-Shiaan led by Aga Syed Muhammad Fazalullah Al-Safvi Al-Mosvi held a daylong Majlis at Imambargah Ayatullah Yousuf (RA).
Aga Syed Muhammad Fazalullah delivered a lecture on the importance of the Karbala Martyrs. Later processions were taken out from Garipora Bemina which culminated at Khomeini Chowk Bemina.
