Sakina inaugurates camp for specially-abled persons
Srinagar, Jan 3: Minister for Social Welfare, ARI Trainings and Public Grievances, Sakina Itoo on Thursday inaugurated a camp for rehabilitation of specially-abled persons at Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Bemina here.
The camp was organized by the Rehabilitation Council of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with CRC, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
During the camp, over 400 beneficiaries, rehabilitation workers attended the camp. On the occasion 50 hearing aids, 30 wheel-chairs, 15 tri-cycles, 30 pair of auxiliary crutches and 20 walking sticks were distributed on the spot among the beneficiaries, officials said.
On the occasion, Sakina highlighted the role of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Council and stressed that the beneficiaries should avail benefits of these schemes so that they live with dignity and honour.
“Social Welfare department will identify the beneficiaries in far flung areas so that they will also avail the benefits of various schemes and programmes,” she said.
Director CRC Bashir Ahmad Bhat highlighted the programmes and schemes being implemented by the CRC and Social Welfare Department in the interest of persons with disabilities in J&K
