Azad reviews progress of super-specialty hospitals

New Delhi, Jan 4: Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Friday chaired a meeting to review the progress on upcoming Super-specialty Hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir.
 Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services & Sports, R S Chib and Commissioner Secretary, Health & Medical Education, MK Diwedi were present at the meeting.
 Union Minister impressed upon the State Government to initiate steps to engage qualified super-specialists to provide best medicare to the needy patients.  He further said that in order to overcome the shortage of faculty in the medical colleges of the State, it has become mandatory to enhance the retirement age of the existing faculty as has been done in other states. Besides, steps need to be taken to hire super-specialists from outside the State on contractual basis.
