DFP condemns Shah’s house arrest

Srinagar, Dec 4: Democratic Freedom Party has strongly condemned the house arrest of chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah on Friday, terming it undemocratic.
 Meanwhile, Shah, in a statement today, said, “The tactics used by the authorities to suppress the struggle will never succeed. The struggle is going on its own pace and the deaths, life imprisonments and arrests will not deter the people from pursuing freedom struggle in any way but they will give it a new vigor and heartiness.”
 Describing the political consciousness and courage of the youth as great asset in the freedom struggle, the DFP chairman said, “New Delhi’s control on state will not last long.”
 Shah hailed the “Jail Bharo Tehreek” of JKLF, saying that “It is a right step in the right direction and appealed to the pro-freedom groups to fight collectively against the worst political vendetta of announcement of life announcements and other arrests.”
