UNIQUE SURGERY PERFORMED
Tangmarg,Jan 4: Doctors at SDH Tangmarg here in north Kashmir performed a unique surgery, first of its kind, in sub district status hospital.
Hospital sources said a 12th class student, of Chandil-Wanigam was operated upon for ovarian cystectomy successfully. “The patient admitted in the hospital was diagnosed of a cyst in her ovary. A surgical team under the supervision of Dr Nuzhat Afsha and the anesthetist Dr Syed Parvaiz along with paramedics M Shafi Shah, B A Matta, Manzoor Ahmad Shiekh and Abdul Hamid Waza performed the surgery and removed a big cyst,” they added.
People of the area have applauded the efforts of doctors but have expressed concern for the lack of proper surgical infrastructure in the hospital. They have demanded the sophisticated and latest tools so that such surgeries could be performed in far flung areas.
