BSNL commissions exchange at Nowgam


Srinagar, Jan 5: Chief General Manager BSNL Jammu and Kashmir Circle, RK Kaul, Saturday inaugurated a state-of-the-art exchange at Nowgam on city outskirts here.
 On the occasion, the CGM said the exchange— OCB 2K RSU— will improve quality of the services including broadband facility in Nowgam and its adjoining areas including BK Pora, Wanbal, Aribagh, SK Bagh, Khanday Colony, Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony, Shankerpora, Usmania Colony, Methan, Ahmad’s Hospital area, Banpora, Railway Colony, Naik Bagh and Natipora
 “We have installed the latest equipment in the exchange to provide quality services to our valued customers,” Kaul said.
 Kaul said the BSNL will also open counters at new exchanges in Nowgam, Karan Nagar and Rainawari for receipt of bills for convenience of subscribers.
 Kaul said negotiations are on with management of Tata Docomo which is winding up its services in the State from January 17, to provide an option to their subscribers to switch over to BSNL network.
 “There are nearly 40,000 CDMA voice subscribers of TATA which can be accommodated on BSNL network. We are the only service provider who have CDMA facility and the TATA subscribers can easily switchover to our network,” Kaul said. 
 “Negotiations are on with TATA Docomo management to provide us with code to upload our software on its data card in larger interest of its subscribers,” he added.Among others General Manager Telecom, Srinagar, Charan Dass, DGM Srinagar M G Mufti DGM Mobile Srinagar Nazir Joo, consultant BSNL BA Wani, Public Relations Officer BSNL Masood Bala were present.
