Seminar On Road Safety Week Held
Budgam, Jan 5: A seminar to mark the 24th Road Safety Week was organised by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) in association with District Administration Budgam at Town hall here on Saturday.
Speaking on the seminar, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Manzoor Ahmad gave an extensive lecture on road safety measures. He urged the transporters and the civil society to cooperate with his department in ensuring better transport services in the district. The representatives of various transport companies and members of the civil society also participated in the programme. Deputy Commissioner Budgam Khurshid Ahmad Shah while addressing the gathering urged the participants to abide by the traffic rules and cooperate with the administration ensuring smooth running of the vehicles.
The Deputy Commissioner handed over appreciation certificates and cash awards to as many as 6 drivers whose work has been found promising.
