IISM 1ST SKI COURSE CONCLUDES
Gulmarg, Jan 6: The first snow ski course of Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) Gulmarg concluded at Gulmarg on Sunday.
The Director Finance, Ministry of Tourism, Yashvir Singh was guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the trainees. Singh himself was part of the course.
In the course around 100 students participated in basic, inter-mediate and advance level courses.
On the occasion, Principal, IISM J S Dhillon, welcomed the chief guest and complemented the students who completed the course.
He said that Institute has diversified into different adventure activities and trains hundreds of youth in different courses.
“The adventure skills developed in the youth not only develop their personality but are also handy to give them self-employment opportunities in a tourist dominated state like J&K,” said Dhillion.
He said that the institute has a centrally heated building where students get world standard administration and training. Institute also sponsors local children free of cost through different sponsors.
