Srinagar,Jan 6: Chief Minister,Omar Abdullah Sunday morning visited the under construction Shrine of Peer-e-Dastgeer Sahib (RA) at Khanyar here and received first hand appraisal of the status of progress on work.
Interacting with the officers of constructing agency, the CM stressed on ensuring the restoration of Shrine to its old glory. He said that all aspects of the heritage characteristic of the Shrine should be kept in view while completing the restoration work in a time bound manner.
The CM also paid obeisance there and prayed for peace and development of the State. He interacted with people and heard them patiently.
Minister for Rural Development, Ali Muhammad Sagar accompanied the CM.
The revered two centuries old shrine was gutted in a mysterious fire incident on June 25 last year, plunging the Valleyites into anguish and grief.
