'Avoid unscheduled power cuts'
Kulgam, Feb 8: Emphasizing on strict observance of power schedule, Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Mir Tuesday asked the PDD engineers to avoid unscheduled power cuts at any cost.
Chairing a meeting of PDD engineers this afternoon here in south Kashmir, he said that all necessary measures need to be taken in right earnest to avoid pestering power cuts especially in metered areas. “You can’t resort to unscheduled power cuts on the pretext of overloading of receiving stations or sub stations,” he asked the engineers, stressing on activating field functionaries to check power pilferage and consequent overloading.
The Deputy Commissioner said the power schedule already announced by the government has to be adhered to in letter and spirit to relieve the common consumers of the annoying power cuts. No justification of any kind will be tolerated in this regard; he said and stressed on shunning lackadaisical approach and faulty justifications.
