Illustrious women

It was interesting to read ZGM's article on 'Girl student leaders in Kashmir'. I have myself seen a few women volunteers  controlling women devotees at Hazratbal  and  other shrines when I was a small boy. While it is true most of them are unknown to general public  but I am sure some people still remember them. It is well to recall a very excellent article written by Samie Shah that appeared sometime ago in the columns of GK entitled 'Women fighters of Kashmir'. This article  very nicely illustrates  the contributions of some notable women to  the freedom struggle in Kashmir.
