Govt panel for protecting natural resources

Srinagar, July 17: Expressing concern over the depleting forest cover, the Environment Committee of State Legislative Council Wednesday called for comprehensive efforts to protect natural resources of Jammu and Kashmir.
 The Committee also called for inter-departmental interaction to have consensus required to face the challenges posed by global warming and climate change in the State.
 The Committee which met here Wednesday under the chairmanship of Dr. Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri) held threadbare discussions on the impacts of climate change and its impacts on forests and the initiatives being taken by the Government in Jammu and Kashmir.

JEWA elects body
Srinagar, July 17: Judicial Employees Welfare Association Kashmir Province elected its provincial body in which elected representatives of all districts participated.
 Pandit Ilyas Ahmed was unanimously elected as Provincial President, while from District unit Pulwama Farooq Muhammad Mir was elected Provincial Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmed Teeli Provincial Secretary from District Unit Baramulla, Qazi Irshad Provincial Joint Secretary from District Unit Anantnag/Islamabad, Showkat Ahmed Mahjoo Provincial Organiser from District Unit Baramulla.
 Javid Iqbal Malik was elected as Publicity Secretary/spokesman from District Unit Srinagar. Abdul Rehman Mir Central treasurer from District Unit Srinagar, Central Working Committee members, include Aijaz Ahmed Wafai, Bilal Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Amin Mir, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, J P Singh, Molvi Muzaffar Hussain, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Gazi Reyaz Ahmed , Mushtaq Ahmed Khan Abdul Rashid Bhat from Ganderbal, besides all District Presidents of Kashmir Province were present on the occasion.

EJAC Kargil elections held
Kargil, July 17: For the second consecutive time Muhammad Mukhtar Khan was elected uncontested as President EJAC Kargil for which election were held at Tourist Facilitation Center Biamathang Kargil.
 The election was attended by two representatives of each Government department in Kargil and Haji Anayatullah  Rahi was elected as Vice President and Villayat Ali as General Secretary.
