Demise widely condoled
Srinagar, July 17: Wife of prominent Islamic scholar, Mufti Abdul Rashid who is the rector of Darul Uloom Bilaliya, Lal Bazar passed away Wednesday morning following a massive heart attack, the family sources said. Scores of people attended her Nimaz-e-Jinazah.
The woman in her mid ‘30s was feeding her three-year-old son when she breathed her last within seconds. Her husband is out-of- station for Umrah. “Mufti Rashid Sahib was in Madinah when he got the news about the tragedy,” the family sources added. He is likely to fly back home tomorrow. The deceased is also survived by a six-year-old daughter.
Various social, religious and political organizations have expressed concern over the demise. Distinguished Islamic scholar and member All India Muslim Personal Law Board Maulana Khalil ur Rehman Sajjad Nomani in his condolence message expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for Jannat-Ul-Firdous to the departed soul.
Valley’s head priest and Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Dr Umar Farooq expressed deep shock over the demise and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family, while the party’s Media Advisor, Advocate Shahid-Ul-Islam also expressed sympathies.
The nominated Mufti Azam of Kashmir, Mufi Nasir Ul Islam, prominent scholars Mufi Nazir Ahmed Qasmi and Moulana Syed Arshad Hussain Nadvi have also expressed grief.
Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and party spokesperson Naeem Akhtar in his condolence message prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Alkhuddam Chairman Sheikh Feroz termed the demise irreparable loss for the family, particularly the kids. Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization Chairman Manzoor Ahmed Wangnoo attended the funeral procession and termed the demise a great loss for the family. The family sources said the condolence meeting would last for three days.
