Super Bazaar eyes Rs5 cr business this year


Srinagar July 17: Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Cooperatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, today paid surprise visit to Super Bazaar Lal Chowk here.
 The Minister went round the stalls and inquired about the business and response of the consumers.
 The Minister was informed that the business of the Bazaar has swelled to Rs 5 crore during last year which is expected to cross Rs 7 crore this year.
 It was given out that 5 to 50 per cent rebate is being offered on the items sold in the Bazaar which included daily eatables, kitchen appliances, bedding, furnishing, furniture and stationary items.
 The Minister, according to an official statement, asked the management to utilize the available space judiciously and decorate the Bazaar properly.
 He asked them to introduce electronic items like TV, Refrigerators and Washing machines having vast potential in the market.
 The Minister instructed the management to launch a publicity campaign to aware people about the facilities and the rebate available in the Bazaar. He asked them to explore the possibility for opening of more such Units in the city.
 The Minister also announced release of Rs. 10 lakh for renovation of the Bazaar.
 Joint Registrar Cooperatives, Syed Mufi Deen and senior Congress leader S Surinder Singh Channi accompanied the Minister.
