KHARA asks tourists to use helpline numbers
Condemns Gool killings
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 20: Expressing anguish over the killing of civilians in BSNL firing at Gool in Ramban district, the Kashmir Hotels and Restaurant Association (KHARA) today said the situation in Kashmir “is being deliberately made worse by security forces.”
Condemning the BSF action, KHARA said, “Whenever government tries to bring normalcy in the state, security forces destabilize the situation by such mindless acts.”
“This has become almost a pattern now. As soon as situation improves in Kashmir, such incidents take places. Security forces have no regards for the human life and are taking lives of innocent civilians with impunity,” said KHARA President Showkat Chowdhary.
Expressing sympathies with the bereaved families, KHARA has called for the time-bound probe in the incident.
KHARA said whenever the tourism flourishes in Kashmir, such type of incidents occur and Valley is put under siege bringing economic activity to halt.
“Loss of human lives is the biggest loss which can’t be compensated. But the killings are taking place to derail the peace and stability of the State. Law enforcing agencies are hell bent on not allowing situation to normalize here,” Chowdhary added.
KHARA has also asked Union Home Minister “to put curb on its forces in Kashmir.”
Meanwhile, KHARA has urged tourists to feel at home in Valley.
“Even though Kashmir is passing through testing times but we won’t allow tourists to feel uncomfortable or unsafe here. They will continue to enjoy the hospitality here which we are known for,” said KHARA President.
KHARA urged tourists to call on helpline numbers of tourism department on 9419400065 or contact KHARA President and General Secretary on 9797793177, 9906589934 for any kind of help during these days.
“Tourists staying in hotels in Srinagar or any other scenic spots should send SMS or call on our helpline number so that we can try our best to help them or guide them,” Chowdhary said.
