Mirwaiz cautions people against miscreants

Srinagar, July 20: Cautioning the people against the conspiracies of vested interests, the Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Frooq on Saturday stressed upon them to maintain unity at all costs.
“When the entire Kashmiri Nation from Kargil to Jammu are together protesting against the desecration of Holy Quran and the bloodbath of innocent civilians in Ramban, some miscreants with vested interests in Bemina area of Srinagar were trying to create fissures among the Kashmiris on sectarian lines,” Mirwaiz said in a statement today.
Terming such efforts of miscreants as unacceptable, Mirwaiz, who continues to be under house detention, appealed to the Kashmiri people to be united at this crucial juncture and remain extremely cautious and vigilant of these instigators.
Mirwaiz has strongly condemned the imposition of curfew in entire Kashmir during the Holy month of Ramadan. He said people were barred from offering prayers in Masjids.  “There is also shortage of food essentials which has become the extreme cause of suffering for common masses. The use of force on peaceful demonstrators in Ganderbal, Qazigund, Islamabad and other places which left 70 people injured is the worst form of political retribution. It was highly unfortunate that people were not allowed to mourn and express solidarity with their fellow brethren who have lost their dear ones in BSF firing at Gool, Ramban,” he said.
Mirwaiz has appealed international community and human rights organization to intervene and put pressure on New Delhi to stop bloodbath in Kashmir.
