SSSC to hold protest against Gool incident in New Delhi today

New Delhi July 20: Save Sharmila Solidarity Campaign (SSSC) along with some progressive groups have called for a demonstration on Sunday (July 21) against the Gool killings in Ramban district by BSF that claimed 4 lives and injured 44 others.
In a statement e-mailed to GK a spokesman of the SSSC said, “Ramban massacre was not a sudden reaction to the protest. There is every reason to believe that the security personnel had sufficient capability to face the protestors but decided to open fire on them as if they were mentally-prepared to take such action.”
“The Ramban incident is a prima facie case of coercive method adopted by the security personnel. This highlights the highhanded attitude of the security forces that they have acquired over a period time due to their absolute powers and the impunity granted to them. This is the true face of militarization,” he said.
The SSSC campaign would hold a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi at 11 am on Sunday against the Gool killings.
