Farmers demand ban on outsourcing of Nallah Ferozpora water

AHMAD KASHMIRI

Tangmarg, July 27: Farmers of low lying villages of Tangmarg have demanded a ban on the unabated outsourcing of water of Nallah Ferozpora to other areas.
“The irrigation of agriculture land of farms in whole Bangil has got badly affected as the water level in majority of irrigation canals, out branching from Nallah Ferozpora has gone considerably down. The Government is supplying the water to other areas through huge water pipes without any proportional consideration with regard to area of the cultivated lands and the need of drinking water thereof” a delegation of farmers told Greater Kashmir.
“The Nallah is already in a bad condition due to pollution and the presence of stone crushers and macadam plants and now this new trend is a big worry for all of us” they said.
