Javid Mir joins Hurriyat (M)

Srinagar, July 27: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (H) chairman Javid Ahmad Mir on Saturday formally joined Hurriyat Conference (M).
Mirwaiz, while welcoming the return of JKLF into the amalgam, said the Hurriyat has always represented the real political and emotional aspirations of Kashmiris. “The amalgam has always stood for unity and its doors are open to all pro-freedom leaders and parties,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the Front chairman stressed that the Hurriyat call for unity was imperative for the success of the ongoing movement. Mir said Hurriyat was a recognized forum, representing Kashmiri struggle on the international arena.
He said the amalgam represented the true aspiration of Kashmiris and was involved in political and diplomatic efforts on international level to press for the lasting resolution of Kashmir issue.
In view of the given political circumstances, Mir said: “The Hurriyat should be strengthened at all levels. Unity among pro-freedom leadership guarantees success of freedom struggle and it was the long pending demand of Kashmiris as well. In the wider interest of struggle, all the pro-freedom parties should join the ranks of Hurriyat and take the mission to its logical conclusion.”
Meanwhile, soon after Mir joined the amalgam, various Hurriyat leaders including Abdul Majid Banday, advocate Shahidul Islam, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Hakim Abdul Rashid, Saleem Geelani, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Moulvi Abdul Rashid, Abdul Manan Bukhari, welcomed the JKLF chief at Hurriyat headquarters and termed his joining as an significant step towards the unity of pro-freedom leadership.
