Omar announces job for a member of family


Srinagar, July 27: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced government job for one member of the deceased woman's family under SRO 43.
 The lady was reportedly injured during the trouble in some villages of Budgam and died this morning. The Chief Minister also directed for initiating the inquiry into the circumstances leading to the injury and subsequent death of the lady. The Former Minister and MLA Budgam, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi called on Chief Minister in this connection here today and discussed the matter relating to the subject with the Chief Minister.

Legal Metrology Deptt conducts market checking
Budgam, July 27: Intensifying its drive against Legal Metrology Budgam has imposed fine of Rs 32100 during current month.
 “During the checking, 15 bakery shops, 22 kiryana, 17 butchers, 11 poultries and one flour mill were found violating norms and fined,” said an official.
 He said that that various markets of Budgam, Chadoora, Charisharief and Khag were put under surprise inspections and raids. Assistant Controller Metrology Budgam said that the drive would continue in the public interest. “We want to ensure that people get quality material on reasonable prices. Holy month Ramadan is going on while the Eid is approaching very close, we are putting efforts to nab and book law violators,” he said. He said that the market checking was not only to ensure availability of essential commodities on Government fixed rates by also to make sure that no rotten and stale vegetables and other commodities are being sold to customers.

SI candidates demand declaration of results
Srinagar, July 27: Candidates who had appeared in examinations for the posts of SI in Telecommunications of JK Police have appealed Director General of Police Ashok Prasad to ensure declaration of the selection list at the earliest.
 “We had appeared and completed all formalities for these posts in 2011. We were told that the results would be declared within a month. But more than three years have passed and the selection list is still awaited,” said a delegation of candidates.
