Employees to gherao secretariat today

Jammu, Mar 12: Employees Joint Action Committee– one of the factions of Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Consultative Committee–has announced secretariat gharao here on Wednesday.
The EJAC leaders said the decision to hold “token protest” was taken after a meeting held here.
“We had suspended our agitation and plans to hold protest demonstrations in view of the prevailing situation in the state and assurances by Chief Secretary,” Secretary EJAC (third front) Syed Ghulam Raool told Greater Kashmir.
He said the EJAC has decided to gherao civil secretariat here on Wednesday to “remind the government about the long pending demands of the employees.”
Among other things, the employees are demanding regularization of daily wagers, payment of wages to Anganwadi workers, enhancement of retirement age and removal of pay anomalies.
