AFSPA against letter and spirit of Constitution: Bhushan Bazaz
Srinagar, Mar 17: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) has said the continued use of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) is against the letter and spirit of the Constitution and amounted to denial of fundamental rights to people.
Reiterating has party’s stand on the revocation of the special law, Bazaz today said in New Delhi, “The very claim of our country to a democratic system suffers a blow when the people of the entire state are denied fundamental rights on the pretext of security.
Bazaz said the level of disaffection among the people of the state had risen during the last four years.
