RTI activists flay statement
Jammu, Mar 17: RTI activists of Jammu and Kashmir have criticized the statement whereby it was suggested that a provision be made in the Right to Information act so that any information or record remain open for public access only for three years. A joint statement issued by a dozen of RTI activists has said the statement was a setback for the RTI Act.
The statement was endorsed by RTI Activists Balvinder Singh, Convener of Sangarsh RTI Movement, Raman Sharma, Advocate Nadeem Qadri, Deepak Sharma, Rahil Gupta, Advocate Vilakshan Singh, Dewaker Sharma, Darvinder Singh, PV Rawal, vice-president Youth Hostel of India, Kashmir Div. Madan Mohan Sharma, Retd. Dy Commandant, CRPF, Harasis Singh Kranti and Narotam Sharma of Kshitij foundation.
