Sagar for strict adherence to NREGA guidelines

Srinagar, Mar 20: Minister for Rural Development, Ali Muhammad Sagar, asked the officers and officials of Rural Development Department to take MG NREGA as a mission in order to harvest the fruits of this flagship programme at the ground level.
The Minister was addressing grass root level workers and officials of Engineering Wing at his residence here today, an official statement said.
Sagar stressed for speedy plan formulation for 2013-14, its wetting from concerned quarters, taking on board Panchayats while formulating the action Plan, transparency at all levels, maintenance of records like Job Card Register, assets register, employment Register, etc.
The Minister asked the officers to effectively monitor execution of different works, redressal of complaints on the spot, formulation of wage bills besides taking care of problems of rural people with the help of local Panchayats.
Sagar asked the field functionaries including officials of Engineering wing to ensure strict adherence to the guidelines of MG NREGA and refrain from causing un-necessary delay in implementation of this ambitious programme. He also asked them to make sure that the workers get timely payment under the scheme.
The Minister also hailed the role of Director Rural Development and other officials for achieving good results in implementation of various programmes under different schemes of Rural Development Department despite of certain odds.
