Tourism traders welcome Kumar,Shah

Srinagar, Mar 20: The Valley-based tourism traders today felicitated Farooq Ahmad Shah on taking over as District Development Commissioner Srinagar. They also welcomed Shailendra Kumar as Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
KHARA at a meeting today hailed posting of Farooq Ahmad Shah as DDC Srinagar and urged both DDC Srinagar and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to help promote hospitality sector in Kashmir.
KHARA at a meeting observed that Shah has done commendable job during his tenure as Director Tourism.
President KHARA Showkat Chowdhary said in the Srinagar city, projects like construction of TRC in Nowgam, Zabarwan Park, Chinar Bagh, Nigeen Club, Gateway Complex and reconstruction of TRC in the city were initiated by the tourism department under the leadership of Shah.
KHARA also hailed Shah for his assurances to streamline the traffic congestions in the Srinagar City for the convenience of public and visitors also.
KHARA also welcomed Shailendra Kumar as Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
KHARA President urged Kumar for addressing tourism related issues and also help streamlining the supply of essential commodities in Valley.
Muhammad Rafiq Karnai, Secretary, HBOA said the association is hopeful that both the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and DDC Srinagar will work for the development of the Srinagar city.
Karnai said Shah as DDC Islamabad and earlier as Director Tourism has done incredible work for uplift of downtrodden besides development and promotion of tourism in the state.
He said as DDC Srinagar “we expect that Shah would work for the development of city and will solve the genuine grievances of our community.”
Karnai also hailed posting of Shailendra Kumar as Div Com Kashmir.
Shamim A Shah, Chairman JK Chapter, Travel Agents’ Association of India also hailed the posting of Kumar and Shah.
“We are hopeful that both the officers will work for the development of the tourism sector,” Shah said.
